Melissa's May 6 Entry

Welcome to journal entry May 6. Today I turned in another paper for my Shakespeare class. You can see it by going here. I got back my essay on Doll Tearsheet--I got an A. I was telling my sister yesterday that I feel like I am going through the motions on my papers now. I have figured out a system, and don't need to do much preparations to get an A on my papers now. Now that I know that I am going to Arlington, I feel like everything is pointless...like senioritis in high school.

The other thing I did today was pick up my Calvin Klein eyewear. Before I wore Liz Clairborne, however, my glasses have gotten sort of warped, and I needed a new prescription. Also, I got lenses which get dark in the sunlight, which should be handy when I go to Europe.

I also went to Lady Footlocker this week, and bought the cutest pair of DKNY shoes. They are grey suede loafer like tops, with tennis shoe bottoms. The first time I ever bought something from DKNY was when I went to a factory outlet when I was in college in CA. I couldn't afford hardly anything, but I bought a rain hat, for which I got a matching rain jacket a few years ago. Now I see that they have similar hats in the department stores--I guess I was way ahead of the stores, by going to the middle of nowhere.

So while I was walking around in my new shoes and new glasses, I realized how vulnerable I was. I could hardly stay balanced due to my new lenses, and my shoes were way different from the sandles I am used to. However, now I have to break both in before I go on my trip.

I am trying to get back in the habit of journal writing before I go off on my trip. Next year I think my site will change a bit, because I will probably have sections for my students in the two classes I am going to teach. Anyway, I am also considering redoing my site. Perhaps I will will make my http://lissa2000.com a site for my classes that I teach. That way this site could stay just for my own thoughts and experiments. Hmm...we'll see.

Now I am really tired, so I am going to head off to rest. These new glasses are very tiresome. (not to mention the shoes!)
