hello there. welcome to my journal entry for january 30. As you can tell from my background music and images, I am in a fairly subdued mood. The music in the background is by one of my favorite composers, Mozart. On the left is "Mozart Composing the Requiem." The music is in fact Lacrimosa, part of the Requiem. I like this music because it is very dramatic and romantic, while still having the thematic relationship to death. If you haven't seen the movie version of Amadeus, you should. My friend Margaret was in the play version, and so I got to see it. The dramatic representation of Mozart's development as a composer, and his relationship with Salieri is a great tale about talent and the anatomy of genius.

Today I went to my therapy session with Dr. Mao. This was like a tune-up session for me. No real issues were delved into, although she kept wanting to talk about how my parents don't treat me like a capable adult. So in a way, I felt like she was trying to do therapy on my parents through me. She kept saying that I was doing so well, and that my parents should appreciate me more. And I was like, well, what am I supposed to do? Oh well. At least I got a new prescription for celexa, which solved the problem I had a few days ago.

As another change of pace, I am going to do a little mini-review of these excellent beauty products that I found this past week. I don't often find make-up that is unique and effective enough to mention, but these three items are very usable. (And no, I am not getting paid for telling you this--it is just a free advertisement) First is the 3 & 1 Express by Maybelline. This product, pictured on the right, gives you a concealer, liquid, and powder light coverage for your face. I like it because often times I would use a concealer almost as a foundation, and wish that my powder/foundation combos made by L'Oreal could be applied like a concealer. All in all, it is a good bridging mechanism for make-up, without losing the flexibility of other beauty products. Next, again by Maybelline, is the Expert Eyes Duo seen on the left. This product isn't new in itself--it is the standard eyeshadow that this company puts out, however they now put out a new color combination called Lovey Dovey, whose colors you can see on the left. This is supposed to be for the Valentine Season, and I like it because it fits the clothes I bought from oldnavy for V-Day. The pinks are not garish, or too girly, and they go on like soft suede. And I don't end up looking like I have red eye, either. Finally, as you see on the right, there is the new and exciting product by L'Oreal called "Fresh Styling Water." I can not say enough good things about this hair styling product because it is such a great concept. It looks like water, it feels like water, it is light like water, but it has the styling power of a gel or mousse. Any hair product which looks like a bottle of evian has got to be tried out. And to top it off, it actually works. It doesn't clump or get stiff or sticky. How does it work, I don't know. And no it isn't just water, either.

Well, this entry has been quite a departure from the other ones. Anyway, again I am going to put this form in which allows you to give me feedback.
