2000 is here, do you hear?

right now my obsession is the matrix: still. get used to it. however, I am also obsessed with the fact that it is the year 2000. I remember when I was younger how I would think about the future, and the one year I would fixate on would be Y2K. I didn't care about any importance the year might have to mankind, but I did care that I would be 25. I couldn't imagine it, however one teacher in junior high gave us an assignment to write to our future selves about our hopes and dreams and expectations. She was then going to send the letter to us on our (25th, in my case) birthday in the year 2000. So, I am now eagerly awaiting Feb. 27, to see what my younger self thought. I will update you when I finally get it. In the meantime, I collect things with references to the year 2000 on them, like the "21stcenturygirl" emblem you see above which is on an oldnavy shirt Igot recently. ps...I love oldnavy and try to wear as much of their clothes as possible (hint, hint. :)

peer power

As you may remember, this journal came into existence because of the influence of two webcam girls I know: Kari and Hanah. However, it is only influenced by those types of sites--hopefully mine has a mind of its own. I think that the neat thing about these journals is that you can slowly learn about people in a meaningful way. It isn't a letter to anyone in particular, nor is like the isolation/privacy that an off-line diary brings. Hopefully, on my own site I can bring an even different and just as interesting perspective and style to journalling on the web--such as:

from the presidents of the united states, unknown songs no one wants to hear

tuna

moving to the white house, I am going to eat me a lot of tuna

algore comes in a can, he was put there by bill clintan, by a caucas downtown

if i had my voting way I'd eat tuna everyday
natures candy in my sandwhich, or can or a salad

lump

gore sat alone in the white house, totally emotionless because he's a dead fish

it's gore , it's gore, he's in my head

it's gore, it's gore, he might be dead

lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala

it gore it gore I can't speak well

it gore it gore so go to hell

it gore it gore what's that smell

lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalallalalalala

that was a brain spasm you can feel free to ignore

another thing I am obsessed with (as you will learn, I have many obsessions) is Madeline, as in the character in Ludwig Bemelmans books. I have 98 percent of his books, 2 Madeline dolls (one is a ski Madeline), a Madeline puzzle, computer game, canister, stationary, the movie, and I will have more whenever I can get my hands on other Madelinebilia.

-complaining interlude-*cough* for the last month I have been battling the flu, and I thought I had it kicked, but now I have this weird cough which feels like an air bubble at the bottom my lungs. it is not a dry cough, but there is also no mucus. I have been telling people that I think that maybe there is a plague-like outbreak, and no one is aware of it, because the government is hiding it. *cough*: perhaps this is just a thought from flubraindamage?

movie madness

finally, I wanting to let everyone know that I saw girl, interrupted today, based on the book by Susanna Kaysen I just read. I am not going to review it because I review movies for accessjournal.com so I will be posting one there. however, I thought it was very well done, and it was a good and faithful representation of life in a mental ward. one day I will write up my own experiences about being in the madhouse, probably some of it appearing in this forum.

for now, over and out, and farewell...tom. I have class on King Arthur, so I have to wake up early and learn about damsels in distress.

ciao
